What is Cacao:

Cacao, derived from the seeds of the Theobroma cacao tree, is a raw, unprocessed form of chocolate that retains its natural nutrients and compounds. It’s a nutrient-dense superfood packed with antioxidants, essential minerals, and mood-enhancing compounds. Its high flavonoid content supports heart health by improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure. Cacao boosts mood and cognitive function through compounds like theobromine and phenylethylamine. With anti-inflammatory properties, it helps combat oxidative stress and promotes overall mental clarity and stress reduction. Additionally, cacao holds cultural and spiritual significance, often used in traditional ceremonies for its heart-opening and healing properties.

How does a Cacao Ceremony flow?

We gather and enjoy a delicious cup of the best ceremonial grade “Keith's Cacao”,  sourced directly from Guatemala. I will explain a little about the history of it, the compounds and how it works. Then, I guide you through a meditation to allow you to connect inwards, using sound healing instruments. You are then brought on a deep inward journey through various techniques and Reiki. Usually, we end the ceremony with a guided meditation on a particular topic appropriate for the day. This can be anything from manifestation, connecting with your higher Self or inner child, or balancing the masculine and feminine aspects of yourself to allow more integration and harmony within your sense of being.

Things to know before a ceremony;

Ceremonial doses of Cacao can have adverse side effects for some people. If any of the below applies to you, know that it is still perfectly safe for you, but we would need to start you with a slightly lower dose.

ANTI-DEPRESSANTS

The MAOIs in cacao can interact with some anti-depressant medication so ask your doctor if it’s ok for you. It's not dangerous, just unpleasant as it can create a migraine. Let me know if you're taking any mood altering medication as I may need to alter your dose, but you can absolutely still join. In general, it will only affect those on a high dose or mixture of medications, and all should be fine on a slightly lowered dose of Cacao.

PREGNANCY/BREASTFEEDING

Cacao is safe and really good for developing babies but your dose may need to be lowered, depending on the stage so let me know if that applies to you.

HEART CONDITIONS

Cacao increases your heart rate 20-30% so if this would be a problem for you let me know and I will alter your dose. It's an amazing heart medicine but you may need to start slower with it.
